Although the socety she lived discouraged women from having artistic training, Georgia o’Keeffe became an inspiration to millions, including myself. She revolutionised art regardless of her gender or education. For me, her work is a breath of brilliantly fresh air - compared to the mordern art movements of block colours and cubic designs (such as ‘De Stijl’), her work is beautiful. With so many tones of colour merging and causing her pieces to be visionary masterpieces. What would otherwise be a stereotypical picture of a flower has been magnified and viewed in different perspectives to create works of art that have not only inspired individuals such as myself, but continue to astound future generations.
